What is a CMS?

CMS stands for 'Content Management System'.

Feel free to look up the Wikipedia answer to the question. But for the sake of keeping thing simple let's come up with a single sentence answer within the scope of using it for our church websites:

A CMS is a piece of software that is installed on a server to enable the most basic PC operator to complete tasks that only a few years ago would generally be left to a professional web developer.
