The best extensions (Top Level Domains) for churches to go for are as listed below:
.org (churches in USA, Canada or anywhere else in the world)
.org.uk (churches in the UK)
.org.au (churches in Australia)
.org.nz (churches in New Zealand)
.org.za (churches in South Africa)
There is nothng stopping you having any extension that you want for your church website, but bear in mind that ones that end in .com, and .biz are associated with commercial and business sites, but ones with .org in the title were created for charities and non-profit organistaions, so best to stick with them (this is also the most common domain type for churches).
