Thank you to all the many people who turned up on Friday night as we took to the city streets and distributed food and blankets to those in need. Once again, it was just an awesome experience to serve these fellow human beings in this way. As you engage with homeless people you so often find that they had an ordinary upbringing just like you and me, but a situation in life such as the loss of a job or the breakup of family is often the starting point to their downward spiral. As we returned home in the car, the words of Jesus echoed in my heart "Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and

you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." (Matthew 25:34-36).
